05/30/2007
Campaigns & Elections
magazine has named Blackrock Associates' (http://www.blackrockonline.com) Principal Larry Huynh one of
its 2007 Rising Stars. One of the most prestigious honors in politics, the award
goes to people 35 or under who have already made a significant mark in political
consulting or advocacy. Campaigns & Elections chose 10 Democrats, 10
Republicans and five nonpartisan leaders this year out of a pool of several
hundred nominees.
"We expect great things from the 2007 Rising Stars,"
said Morgan E. Felchner, editor of Campaigns & Elections. "Through their
achievements, they are proving that success truly has no limits."
"It is
a great honor to be named a Rising Star by Campaigns & Elections magazine,
the preeminent trade publication for our industry," said Huynh. "Strategic use
of the internet and technology is now critical to the success of any campaign,
and I hope to continue the tradition of success established by previous winners
of this award in the years to come."
Past Democratic Rising Stars have
included Paul Begala, James Carville, Rosa DeLauro, Rahm Emanuel, Stan
Greenberg, Alexis Herman, and George Stephanopoulos, to name just a few. This
year's recipients will be honored at a special reception at C&E's 24th
annual campaign training seminar, "The Art of Political Campaigning," on May
31st in Washington D.C.

Webb, Congressman Nick Lampson, Jay Nixon for Missouri Governor, and Los Angeles

During the 2006 political cycle, Blackrock
went 7-for-7: helping elect Senator Jim Webb (VA), Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN),
Congressman Nick Lampson (TX-22), Secretary of State Debra Bowen (CA), State
Controller John Chiang (CA), as well as defeating Measure 43, a parental
notification initiative in Oregon and helping pass Proposition 84, the clean

campaign, Blackrock helped coordinate and achieve the viralization of the
infamous "Macaca" video and raised $4 million online, more than 50% of the total
funds raised by the campaign.
